Idil Karacadag and Mark David Wyers

Ä°dil KaracadaÄŸ is a freelance translator from Istanbul, Turkey. She has translated various works of contemporary Turkish literature into English and participated at the Cunda International Workshop for Translators of Turkish Literature between 2010-2015. Her translations have appeared in Turkish Poetry Today, Two Lines, Aeolian Visions/Versions, and Pomegranate Garden.

Mark David Wyers completed his BA in literature at the University of Tampa in Florida and his MA in Turkish Studies at the University of Arizona. From 2008 to 2013, he worked as the director of the Writing Center at Kadir Has University in Istanbul, during which time he wrote a book-length historical study titled “Wicked Istanbul”: The Regulation of Prostitution in the Early Turkish Republic, which drew upon his master’s thesis. Inspired by the translations he was doing for his research, he began translating Turkish literature into English. He has translated numerous novels from Turkish into English, and his translations of Turkish short stories have appeared in various journals and magazines.
