Rituparna Roy

Rituparna Roy is an academic and creative writer based in Kolkata. She is the author of South Asian Partition Fiction in English: From Khushwant Singh to Amitav Ghosh (AUP, 2010) and co-editor of the ICAS Volume Writing India Anew: Indian English Fiction 2000-2010 (AUP, 2010). She is initiator of the Kolkata Partition Museum Project (KPMP) and managing trustee of the KPM Trust, which aims at the establishment of a Partition museum in Kolkata (https://kolkata-partition-museum.org/). She writes an occasional column on India for the IIAS Newsletter, and blogs about Indian cinema and her personal life at http://www.royrituparna.com/. Several of her articles, interviews of authors, and reviews of books and films have appeared in The Wire, Scroll, The Punch Magazine, Our Front Cover and Kaani. Her fiction has been published online by The Punch Magazine, Lebowski Publishers and Jaggery: A Desilit Arts and Literature Journal. Her maiden collection of shorts, Gariahat Junction, is due to be published soon by Kitaab International (Singapore).
