Bal Mukund Gupt (1865-1907) was a Hindi essayist and journalist who made his mark in the Indian literary sphere with his talent in a short life span. He served as editor for many Urdu and Hindi journals. He is known to use his satire and humour to oppose the British colonial policies, which is best reflected in his essay collection ‘Shivashambhu ke Chitthe.’
