Ravi Shankar

Ravi Shankar, called “one of the finest younger poets of his generation”, is a Pushcart Prize winning poet and author, editor or translator of over 15 books and chapbooks, including Language for a New Century (W.W. Norton), the Muse India Award winning translations of Tamil poet/saint Andal, The Autobiography of a Goddess (Zubaan), and The Many Uses of Mint: New and Selected Poems (recent works). He is chairman of the Asia Pacific Writers & Translators, founder of Drunken Boat and recipient of an international research fellowship from the University of Sydney and residencies at the MacDowell Colony and the Corporation of Yaddo. His memoir Correctional is forthcoming in 2021 from University of Wisconsin Press.
