Annual Anthology of Short Fiction (2022): Call for Submissions

After the tremendous success of The Punch Magazine Anthology of New Writing: Select Short Stories by Women Writers, edited and introduced by The Punch Magazine’s founder Shireen Quadri, we are all set to begin work on our next anthology of short fiction, which will showcase a selection of new writing from writers around the world.

We are looking at original, unpublished short fiction (between 3,000-5,000 words). We welcome all forms and styles — experimental, genre-bending or the ones that showcase your shape-shifting proclivities. The submission for this annual anthology is open to all.

So, what’s your story?

Mail your entries in a word doc format to [email protected] latest by September 10, 2022, with “Annual Anthology 2022” in the subject line. All entries must be submitted along with a hi-res profile photo (at least 1 MB) and a bio (not exceeding 250 words).

There is an entry fee of $20 (Rs 1,500) for each submission.

Indian residents can pay their submission fee here.

If you are based elsewhere in the world, pay the submission fee here.

Alternatively, you can transfer the fee online to Punch Art & Culture Foundation, Account No: 919010036898613, Axis Bank, IFSC Code; UTIB0000715.

A writer can submit a maximum of two entries. Due to the volume of submissions, we will not be able to respond to individual entries. However, after we make the selection, we shall inform writers who will make the cut.
