Amitava Nag writes poetry and short fiction in Bengali and English for several magazines, both national and international. His first collection of short stories in English, 'Radha' was published from Just Fiction. His English anthology of translation of Soumitra Chatterjee’s Bengali poems, titled Walking Through the Mist was published this year and a collection of his own poems, Forever Meera, is awaiting publication — both from Dhauli Books. 

Amitava has also published anthologies of poems and short stories in Bengali. Writing extensively on cinema for the last 20 years in leading publications, he has authored five books on cinema till date, including Beyond Apu: 20 Favourite Film Roles of Soumitra Chatterjee (HarperCollins India), Satyajit Ray’s Heroes and Heroines (Rupa Publications) and 16 Frames (Crossed Arrows). He also edits the film magazine Silhouette since 2001.
