Jyotish Gopinathan is a nephrologist, clinician-educator, postgraduate teacher, and researcher. Currently residing in Kozhikode, Kerala, he has lived and trained in medicine in Mumbai and Toronto. He has been a passionate advocate for medical ethics, especially in the context of organ transplantation, as well as gender equality, in addition to patient-centered care, particularly for older individuals. His book of poems, The Coppiced House, was published by Writers Workshop, Kolkata, in December 2024. His work has been accepted for publication in 2025 by Muse India, Poems India and the Annals of Internal Medicine.
