Sarmad Faraz, son of Pakistani poet Ahmad Faraz, has been playing guitar for several years. He was one of the founding members of Corduroy, the pioneering underground rock acts of Islamabad. Corduroy is credited to have independently released the first English rock album of the country in 2004 called The Morning After.
