For over half a century, Luxaddi
has been a name synonymous with elegance and craftsmanship in the world of
lighting. Since its establishment in 1968, it has been making exquisite
lighting creations — chandeliers, wall sconces, table lamps and lanterns — with
each piece more than a mere fixture, but rather an objet d’art with a lasting
value. The brand’s first retail store in India, which threw its doors open at Mehrauli
on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road in New Delhi recently, is spread over 6,000 square feet; it
comes after the brand’s five decades of exports to countries around the world.
Inspired by the Roman
architecture (accented with a white palette and gracefully curved arches), its
core target is the Indian design aficionados. According to the founders of the
company, Abhishek and Shweta Singhal, the arches create ‘a sense of separation
between different areas without completely closing off the spaces’: it lends the
store an open and inviting atmosphere. Its white walls and ceilings are the
perfect canvas for a visual installation of the astounding collections of
lights.
Luxaddi’s grand crystal chandeliers adorn the banquet halls of luxury hotels, like Rambagh Palace (Jaipur), The Oberoi, The Taj Hotels and The Leela Palace, etc. What’s more, Bollywood celebs and famous sports icons have been have their regular clientele. At the heart of Luxaddi’s identity lies a unique ability to capture the ethereal within the everyday. By merging the ancient art of glass crafting, dating back to fourth-century Roman glasswork, with cutting-edge design, it has set new trends in the lighting industry. Besides luxury hotels, it also caters to private residences, and villas, collaborating with renowned architects, designers and global hotel chains.
Located in Moradabad (Uttar
Pradesh), its artisans handcraft each lighting piece with meticulous care,
perfected through years of experience. Their approach is marked by attention to
detail and an unrelenting pursuit of perfection. Its works have also found
their way to iconic international landmarks, from the Paris Hotel & Casino
in Las Vegas to the White House Museum in Washington, D.C. In Luxaddi’s universe,
illumination transcends its functional purpose and becomes “an art form, a
means of storytelling, and an expression of timeless beauty”.
Walking through Luxaddi’s new
store, the founders say, is akin to embarking on a journey through the
evolution of lighting across the ages. Its interiors, designed by Manya from
The Upscale Storeys and Ayati, seamlessly amplify the artistry of Luxaddi’s bespoke
lighting designs.
