Spread over an area of 6,500 sq ft, the first flagship store of a new vertical by one of the prominent home furnishing brands in India brings the richness and elegance of European brands to luxury buyers in India
Dialogues by Nirmals is a one-stop destination for all things home décor. Tucked away amid the cluster of high-end retail outlets on MG Road, the first flagship store of a new vertical by one of the prominent home furnishing brands in India was launched in Delhi Design District recently. Nirmals has been in the furnishing business for the last forty years. They predominantly collaborate with European textile mills from Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, etc to bring the iconic brands in furnishings to India.
Spread over an area of 6,500 sq ft, this aesthetically done-up flagship store is located on the first floor and exudes style and grandeur. They have a huge and exclusive collection of fabric for curtains, upholstery, bed linen, wall coverings, soft furnishings, carpets, and artefacts from the most exotic places across the world, especially Europe.
Dialogues store is built to cater to the needs of its elite domestic consumers looking for international products and design for their homes. It is working closely with some of the high-profile architects and designers engaged in the beautification or renovation of private villas, bungalows, hotels and luxury projects. Their customers range from individuals to commercial and institutional buyers. They have a professional team of experts to guide their clients in the selection of interiors that match their sensibility as well as in getting them customised.
On the entryway, beautiful wallpapers, artefacts and artworks greet you. A large corner space, christened as the fabric museum, is dedicated to hand-woven and hand-embroidered fabrics that can be used as upholstery, curtains, cushions or bedsheets, as per the taste of clients. There are beautiful art pieces and pottery from Portugal, Japan, China and other countries. The checkered flooring in the corridors and the colourful wallpapers across the store seem to be in some sort of harmonious conversation. The multiple arched doorways that lead to different concept-driven rooms across the store symbolises the logo of Dialogues and its philosophy of unrestricted, seamless movement of body and mind: One’s movement from a corner to another is seamlessly fluid. This place is built as an experiential centre for luxury buyers. They also have a detailed fabric library to choose from.
The store design is based on the lines of Maison & Objet (major annual French trade fair for interior design) and Proposte (a free Italian fair which brings together textile publishers, upholstered furniture manufacturers, wholesalers, converters, large distribution chains and contract operators) with the intention to offer an international shopping experience to the domestic buyers. Each product is placed in a manner that seems to establish an imminent dialogue around fabrics and textile. There is a story behind each space that is driven by a unique concept. Dialogues has recently launched four new international brands, including MOBJE, Atelier Le Motif, Guell Lamadrid and Coordonne.
Here is more about these brands:
MOBJE: It was created in 2019 by Fujii Hat Co, a hat-maker in Japan. Recently, they have also ventured into creating objets d’art using methods and materials used in hat making. These products, while showcased as artefacts inside one’s home, can be changed in shapes and sizes by squeezing, bending and folding them and adding newness to the whole set-up. Their latest collection has wallpetals, posing lamps, lapels and bibendum.
Atelier Le Motif: It is the brainchild of mother-daughter duo Camila Watzko Rubini De Souza and Marta Mercedes Watzko Rubini from Barcelona. These handmade artworks are a result of play with nature, simplicity, lines, textures, emotions, memories, all through the non-linear creative process. This gives birth to the most exclusive pieces of art. In case the pieces get damaged while creating, they are fixed by the method of Kintsugi and made available for sale. They create flower vases, candle stands, and pottery etc.
Güell Lamadrid: Founded by a leading Spanish textile editor, Javier Lamadrid, the brand is known for its bold design, strong patterns and charming textures. The fabrics have many diverse designs that can inspire the mood of a particular space. Lamadrid aspired to have his own textile business after working for long in a large manufacturing industry. His sons have been taking the legacy forward for the last two decades.
Coordonne: A Spanish design house, it is a 40-year-old family-run business based in Barcelona. It is known for its wallpapers, murals, fabrics and homewares. Established in 1978 by Carmen de la Madrid, it has made a mark in the world of interiors for its high-quality wallpapers and murals. The design is inspired by the rich history of art and architecture of Barcelona.
