10 furniture, lighting and textile designs to give your home a monsoon refresh
Bent Collective’s dining table draws inspiration from the fluid elegance of the Art Nouveau movement, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

From sculptural chairs and statement tables to warm lights and Rajasthan-inspired textiles, these pieces can make the indoors feel far more inviting while the rain comes down outside

The monsoon has a way of changing how we see our homes. As the sky turns grey and evenings arrive early, the rooms we usually rush through begin to matter a little more. Suddenly, a comfortable chair, a softly lit corner or a beautiful throw becomes a small everyday pleasure.  This is also the perfect time to give the house a gentle refresh. It does not have to mean repainting walls or changing everything at once. One striking piece can lift an entire room, a sculptural dining table, an inviting sofa, a floor light that casts a golden glow or even a desk that makes working on a rainy morning feel less tiresome.

This selection brings together furniture, lighting and textiles that balance comfort with character. There are bold pieces that immediately draw the eye, quieter designs that reveal their details slowly, and handcrafted objects that bring warmth and texture into contemporary spaces. Natural wood, stone, brass, soft upholstery and rich fabrics appear throughout, making the collection especially suited to the season. From Bent Collective’s dramatic Thomasine Dining Table and Essentia Home’s curving Chaplin Accent Chair to Oorjaa’s luminous Victoria Lily and vVyom by Shuchita’s Rajasthan-inspired textiles, these 10 finds offer plenty of ideas for making the indoors feel brighter, warmer and more personal this monsoon.

1. Bent Collective’s Thomasine Dining Table: Like a sculptural island at the centre of a room, Bent Collective’s Thomasine Dining Table commands attention through proportion, material, and presence. Part of the brand's Neo Maximal collection, the striking dining table draws inspiration from the fluid elegance of the Art Nouveau movement, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Defined by its elongated silhouette and commanding proportions, the table balances bold geometry with refined detailing, creating a piece that feels both timeless and distinctly modern.
The design is anchored by two sculptural cylindrical pedestals finished in liquid metal brass, lending the table a sense of strength and visual gravitas. Resting above is a luxurious Green Onyx marble top, prized for its natural veining, tonal variation, and luminous depth. The interplay between the warm metallic base and the richly patterned stone creates a dramatic yet sophisticated composition. Built with an MDF base finished in liquid metal brass and paired with an exquisite marble surface, the table showcases Natelier’s commitment to craftsmanship, material excellence, and artistic expression. 4. Studio by Agni’s Rumi Sofa: Studio by Agni’s Rumi is a sofa combines an oak wood frame, soft ivory upholstery, and intricate hand embroidery, offering a thoughtful interpretation of contemporary living. At first glance, the silhouette is composed and understated. A low oak wood frame establishes a strong horizontal line, while generous ivory cotton cushions lend the sofa a sense of softness and ease. Its proportions are designed for contemporary living, creating a piece that feels equally suited to intimate conversations, leisurely afternoons, and everyday moments at home.

Look closer, however, and the character of the design begins to unfold. Across the backrest, delicate floral embroidery appears almost like a sketch, rendered in muted shades of gold and grey. Each motif is stitched by hand, allowing subtle variations to become part of the piece rather than something to be concealed. The embroidery introduces texture without overwhelming the form, creating a thoughtful balance between minimal design and artisanal craftsmanship. The clean architectural lines keep the sofa visually light, while handcrafted detailing lends warmth and individuality. The oak frame grounds the composition with its natural grain, complementing the softness of the cotton upholstery and reinforcing the tactile quality of the materials. (Price on request)
